Nanotechnology
Spain possesses a significant number of research centres with applied research activities in nanotechnology, allied to basic research at various universities. Although nanotechnology has been made a strategic funding area by the Spanish government funding is low in comparison to most European countries. Nanomagnetics, nanostructures, nanoparticulate coatings, and nanophotonics are examples of research in Spain.
